Red Bridge Road in The Media
The March 11th, 2006 Kansas City Star reported on the March 7th meeting in their neighborhood news secion.
Also in the Star, on February 17th, columnist Mike Hendricks gave his take on the controversy over Red Bridge Road, and picking up on that, Tony’s provides colorful (and some might say off-color) commentary.
Even the people whose back yards lie right in the path of the proposed road hadn’t heard a thing about the City’s plans to put in a new bridge through Minor Park until this Neighborhood News article from 9/20/2003. Notice how the plan is presented as a done deal, and how the headline focuses on the so-called preservation of the old bridge rather than the monster that will tower over it as it rusts away. The article reads like unfiltered proclamations of City officials. In other words, it gets it wrong.
