Billboard Blight
Some of the members of Friends of Red Bridge are leading the fight against billboard blight in Kansas City, where we have about the loosest outdoor advertising ordinance in the country. They have their own web site, too.
Center Planning
The Center Planning and Development Council holds meetings at 7:30 P.M. on the last Tuesday of the month in the basement of the Summit View Church of The Nazarene on 97th Street about two blocks west of Wornall Road. (Parking is behind the building, not visible from the road.)
Southern Communities
The Southern Communities Coalition holds their monthly public meeting at the Baptiste Educational Center on 103rd Street between Hillcrest Road and Hickman Mills Drive in southeast Kansas City at 7:00 P.M. on the third Wednesday of the month. There will be no meeting in June, July, or August.
Local produce and flowers
The farmer’s market in Terrace Lake is back in action every Wednesday! Fresh, local produce, plants and preserves, fun for all!
ShroomHeads -- Local mushroom grower Tena is often at the Wednesday market at 3601 E Red Bridge Road with ’shrooms and other produce from her farm.
Kansas City Organics -- Farmer’s market in Minor Park, just east of Holmes Road on Saturdays, 8:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. May 5th to October 13th.
